How do I save a file on a lower version of the Pad system?

You can click the file you want to download, then click the 'Download' icon. A dropdown menu will appear (STY Version ), allowing you to choose the desired PAD file version.

You cannot save to lower version of Pattern or Marker in version 8 because there are features in V8 which cannot be supported by any previous version of PAD. But you can open previous version of PAD.
